Clear liquid MXC-A33 amine gel catalyst (33% TEDA) in a glass beaker for universal polyurethane systems

MXC-A33 is a high-performance liquid catalyst containing 33% TEDA dissolved in dipropylene glycol. This formulation solves the handling difficulties of solid TEDA by providing low viscosity, moisture resistance, and precise miscibility with polyols. As a powerful “gel catalyst,” it is essential for balancing reactions in flexible foams and elastomers, ensuring superior structural stability and efficient production cycles.

MXC-A33 Features and Applications

Key Technical Features

  • Physical State: Low-viscosity liquid (approx. 100 mPa·s at 24°C).
  • Solubility: Completely soluble in water and miscible with polyether polyols.
  • Industry Equivalents: Comparable to global standards like Dabco 33-LV and Niax A-33.
  • Reactivity: Since the glycol carrier (DPG) is a reactive component, it should be factored into the isocyanate index calculation for precise formulations.

Primary Applications

MXC-A33 is highly versatile and used across various polyurethane sectors:

  • Flexible Foams: Often paired with A-1 (Blow Catalyst) to achieve the optimal balance between gelling and blowing reactions.
  • Rigid & Microcellular Foams: Provides consistent catalytic activity for structural stability.
  • Coatings & Elastomers: Ensures efficient curing and improved processing flow.
